Disambiguation - There is an excellent violinist (now deceased) who shares my name. There's a video of Oleg Kagan (the violinist) playing Brahmns that I highly suggest you see. If your name is also Oleg Kagan, make sure to contact me, so I can link to you here; it's a good name, I think.
OLEG Kagan was born in 1984 in Kyiv, Ukraine, immigrated to Los Angeles in 1990 and has lived there ever since.
He is a poet, librarian, web designer, and foil to a Communist Cat. He has had his poetry published in several journals including Westwind and Ohmanut. Oleg also enjoys writing short stories, drama, and expository prose in the form of articles about librarianship and public speaking. He received a B.A. in English and an M.L.I.S. (Masters of Library and Information Science) from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Oleg also likes reading, listening to all kinds of music, and wandering in botanical gardens. Don't worry, the rest of this website won't be in third person or grayscale.
Hey folks, I'm still posting stuff to my everything-else-but-creative-writing blog, Life in Oleg, so some of the stuff you see here will link there.
I teach computers and design websites. I’ve also created some computing guides:
I like to give presentations/lectures on topics I’m interested in including, but not limited to: poetry/literature, computing, and speechcraft. Contact me if you’d like to me to speak at your venue. Of course, I also do poetry readings.
This is where I’ll post essays and other thoughts
about Librarianship.
